CURRENT CONSULTATIONS

BEEF PROCESSING PLANT, ECCLEFECHAN

Pickstock is consulting on its plans for construction of a beef processing plant to serve the Scotch beef industry. Details of the development are provided below to enable the community and others with an intertest in the proposed development to provide feedback prior to submission of a planning application to Dumfries & Galloway Council later this year. Go to the ‘Feedback’ section at the foot of this page to provide your comments and request further information, or come and see us in person at one of the planned drop in events in Ecclefechan over the summer.

This pre-application consultation commences 21 June 2024 and will be concluded on 13 September 2024.

SITE IDENTIFICATION PLANS

The proposed development would be located west of Ecclefechan adjoining the B7076, near to junction 19 of the A74(M). The land is designated for business and industry development in the Dumfries & Galloway Local Plan, covering about 11 hectares. Pickstock’s proposed beef plant would be the first phase of development, providing a site access junction, estates roads and infrastructure to support future development of the wider 11-hectare development site. The proposed site plan can be accessed here.

DROP IN EVENTS

Two informal events are planned in Ecclefechan village hall to facilitate local dialogue and feedback. Plans will be displayed and the Pickstock team will be available to answer questions. Event details can be accessed here.

FEEDBACK

Pre-application consultation ended on 13 September 2024.  A planning application has been submitted to Dumfries and Galloway Council. Please visit the Council’s website to access details of the application and provide any feedback for consideration by planning officers.
